Donkey Man
One VERY blessed thing about Cyprus is that he sleeps through the night for the most part. He is out cold from about 8pm until around 3am. After that, he wakes up to nurse and fuss a little bit. He doesn’t even cry at all. When I nurse him, at night I do it laying down, so we are both in kind of a funny position. Because of that, he takes in air and sounds exactly like a donkey. The inhale has a nice HEEEEEE to it and then he kind of moans (HMMMMM) while he is nursing.
When I was in Greece, I had a very nice relationship with a donkey who used to live along a road that I loved to walk on. I loved the donkey so much, and I went to visit him often. I made a portrait of him so that I would not forget him. Little did I know that my son would help keep him in my thoughts in the middle of the night!
