I got the hankering to make some mushroom salt the other day. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and I ended up buying some salt and some mushrooms to get started on the project. It is a project I have been excited about for a while.

No sooner did I get the food dehydrator out then Daphne came running over wanting to help.

The mushroom salt project has become entirely her project. She cut up the mushrooms and dehydrated them and even ground them up with the salt. She even mixed the salt all together for me in the end.

I am incredibly impressed at how excited she was to take on the project. The project that was supposed to be my own project became something she did almost by herself.

I was talking to a mom of 6 at the pool the other day and she reminded me that the more time and energy I put in now the more I will get out later. I keep reminding myself of that when the salt gets spilled all over the floor and half the mushrooms end up being fed to the dog. I am so happy to have a little girl to share all these fun things with.
