48. Miss Daphne’s graduation

January17

Daphne is usually very, VERY willing to let me take photos of her. Recently she has decided that she is camera shy, and I am not allowed to take any photos of her.

in fact, over the past couple of days I have had to bribe her to let me take her photo with a piece of chocolate.

I know she will outgrow it, but it is making it really hard to get good photos of her right now. I had a different concept of what I wanted for this photo, but I had to change it around to match her personality and she she needed and wanted at the time. It was a great lesson in child photography.

In the end, I got a really great photo that I like and that shows who my daughter is, which is more important than a concept shoot anyway.

Daphne is holding a stuffed Eeyore that plays music. Cyprus was playing with it at the time, and Daphne had to decide that it was her favorite toy in the world. She insisted that he be a part of her photo.

One cool detail I like about the photo is the writing easel in the background! It goes so well with the mortarboard.

I tend to be very minimalist and simplistic about what I want in the backgrounds and around the edges of my photos. You may notice a lot of my photos have almost pure white or black backgrounds. I am trying to play around a little with adding some other elements to a photo that help enhance the communication. So far, I am liking it.
