56/365 A Funeral
January24
My husband’s step granddad died this week.
It never is a convenient time to die. The good news is that he lived a long, full life. He left children and grand children in the world, and it is a better world for him having been in it.
We all got together and had a nice little memorial for him. My step uncle in law, Kertch officiated (he is also the husband of Richard’s daughter). He did such an amazing job.
They spread his ashes around an oak tree at the highest point on the hill. The view is amazing.
A memorial service is a good time to appreciate what we have. I spent the better part of the day in deep appreciation for the life that I live. It was a day of reflection and looking forward into what I can create in my short stay on Earth.
