I meant this to be my 2.2 photo, but I was called away at a birth and wasn’t able to stick to my plan.

February 2nd is actually a pretty cool day for me. It is Groundhog’s day, which is fun because it makes it easy to look ahead into the fast approaching spring. February 2nd is also my mom’s birthday. Even though she has been gone for 22 years, I still think about her on her birthday and wonder what she would be like if she were still around today.

I learned this year that February 2nd is also Candlemas. We decided to celebrate in our own way. I’ve been wanting to make candles for some time, so Julie, Rebecca and I got together with the kids and made beeswax candles to celebrate Candlemas and the coming of the spring. This is the candle that I made.

It was so much fun to make the candles. I am very addicted now. I plan to try to use candles to read my book by at night just for fun.
