106. Miss Daphne Explores Salem
I have recently started to become very excited about spending time in Salem. I used to think that Salem was not interesting at all, but after a few trips there in the past year or so, I have started to realize that it is a really wonderful city with lots to see and do.
My friend’s birthday was on Thursday so we decided to do something fun to celebrate. We headed out to explore the great city together with our children in tow.
I had such a great time. I loved walking around the downtown area looking at all the little stores. There are so many old buildings that have been taken care of or remodeled to be used as retail space. Something about looking at all the old buildings really appealed to me.
We had a nice lunch with the kids and then went to do some more walking.
We eventually came upon the Capital building. It is such a big, impressive building, it really is hard to miss. It also has green space around it, so we decided to stop and play. It was such a nice day outside, and we didn’t mind sitting next to a big fountain while we soaked up some sun.
A bit bonus for the kids was that there is a little place with bronze sculptures in the park that the kids can climb and play on.
Miss Daphne has found her way onto the top of a stack of frogs on stilts. Oh MY!
I had such a lovely day in Salem, I’m definitely going back for more exploring.
