117/365 Tulip Festival

April14

There is a festival that takes place in Oregon every year called the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. A tulip farm plants 40 acres of tulips and allows the general public to come and admire them during the spring when they are in bloom.

I went last year and was greatly looking forward to it this year. There is nothing more beautiful that tens of thousands of blooming tulips to love and admire. How wonderful!

I managed to get a decent self portrait out of the deal by stealing a plastic crate out in the field (that they were using to hold cut flowers) and using it as a tripod.

It was a very blustery spring day, and I love the way the foreboding clouds hang over the colorful field. I think this is a winner photo.
